Long description
Fractalkine, also termed neurotactin, is a membrane-bound CX3C chemokine. The mature protein is part of a 397-amino acid precursor consisting of a chemokine domain (76 amino acids), a mucin stalk of 241 residues, a putative transmembrane domain (18 amino acids), and an intracellular tail of 37 amino acids. Within the chemokine domain the first two cysteine residues are separated by 3 amino acids. Fractalkine message is found at high concentrations in the brain, and also in kidney, lung and heart. Fractalkine is chemotactic for monocytes and may play a role in brain inflammation. Product provided is the 76 amino acid chemokine domain with a C-terminal biotin.
Antibody come from
Hybridoma produced by the fusion of splenocytes from mice immunized with synthetic peptide conjugated to KLH corresponding to the carboxy terminal sequence of human cytokeratin 14 (KVVSTHEQVLRTKN) and mouse myeloma cells.
Other description
Provided as solution in phosphate buffered saline with 0.08% sodium azide.

Activity Assay
Antibody's suited for
Detects human cytokeratin 14 by Western blot at 50 kDa. Does not react with other cytokeratins or other proteins. Also works for immunohistochemistry using frozen tissues. Does not work with paraffin embedded tissues. Optimal concentration should be evaluated by serial dilutions.

Properties
Biotin conjugates can be detected by horseradish peroxidase, alkaline phosphatase substrates or anti biotin conjugated antibodies. Avidin and Streptavidin bind to the small biotin and are couple to HRP or AP for ELISA. To break the streptavidin Biotin bond we suggest to use a 6 molar guanidine HCl solution with acidity of pH 1.6.
Conjugation
Biotinylated
